Temporary Visas for Skilled Migration

Temporary Skill Shortage visa

Individuals who wish to work lawfully in Australia have a number of temporary visa alternatives. We can assist with assessing and lodging the best option for you.

The 482 visa and the 400 visa are pertinent for skilled applicants. Typically organisations select this option when acquiring specialist skills for vital projects.

  • The 482 visa provides a longer-term option and a potential pathway to PR
  • The 400 visa is for short-term projects

How we can help:

We will work collaboratively with you to determine eligibility and visa suitability for any candidate, in alignment with the business requirement (if applicable).  Once agreed, we prepare all required documentation and manage the end-to-end visa process to provide a successful outcome for the individual.

How it works:

Granted for candidates with specialised skills, knowledge or experience that can help Australian business and can’t reasonably be found in Australia.

  • The 482 visa covers a broad list of 400+ pre-approved skill sets to target employer skill shortages. It requires employer sponsorship and candidates must be nominated to work in an occupation included in either the short-term or medium-term skilled occupations lists.
  • The 400 visa is catered to short-term project work, with a permitted stay of three or six months. This Visa can only be lodged and granted while the candidate is offshore.

What are the benefits:

  • These visas are ideally suited for people who are performing temporary, project-based work
  • The 400 visa typically offers the quickest approval option to secure short-term work. It is an inexpensive visa that doesn’t require employer sponsorship.
  • Obtaining sponsorship for the 482 visa on the Medium Term Stream allows for a pathway to permanent residency.
